Product Description:
Dimethyl Formamide (DMF) is a colorless and transparent liquid, which is miscible with water and most organic solvents. Pure dimethylformamide has a special odor, and industrial grade or deteriorated dimethylformamide has a fishy smell because it contains impurities of dimethylamine. The source of the name is that it is the dimethyl substituent of formamide (the amide of formic acid), and both methyl groups are located on the N (nitrogen) atom. It is a common solvent for chemical reactions. As a polar (hydrophilic) aprotic solvent with a high boiling point, it can promote the SN₂ reaction mechanism. Dimethylformamide is manufactured using methyl formate and dimethylamine.

As a washing and curing agent in the polyurethane industry, it is mainly used in the production of wet-process synthetic leather; in the pharmaceutical industry, as a synthetic drug intermediate, it is widely used in the production of doxycycline, cortisone, and sulfonamide drugs; in the acrylic fiber industry As a solvent, it is mainly used in the dry spinning production of acrylic fiber; in the pesticide industry, it is used to synthesize high-efficiency and low-toxicity pesticides and insecticides; in the dye industry, it is used as a dye solvent; in the electronics industry, it is used as quenching of tinned parts and circuit boards cleaning, etc.; other industries include carriers of dangerous gases, solvents for crystallization of pharmaceuticals, adhesives, etc.

dmf is stored in a cool and ventilated storage room. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 37°C. Keep away from sources of fire and heat, keep container tightly closed. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks, and the storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate sealing materials.
